We are delighted to announce that Andre Norris has signed for the Junior Bison U15 team.
Andre is no stranger to the Junior Bison after spending a lot of time at the rink supporting his brother and new U15 team mates after Ciaran (CJ) signed in the summer, so we are delighted that Andre has decided to join his brother in wearing the Junior Bison colours.
Andre has spent his career to date, five seasons, in the Swindon academy and has developed into a dynamic hockey player capable of playing as both a defender or a forward, with his previous coaches describing him as being a hard working player with a mature mind.
Andre joins the Bison U15 team to play as a forward but so far this season has played for the Swindon U15 team in defence and the Swindon U18 team as a forward.
Over his time in Swindon Andre had developed into an important player earning some impressive statistics and regularly playing up age groups.
Andre has also been nominated to represent his club in the South West Conference trials for the past three seasons and was awarded the Players Player of the Year in 2013 and Most Improved Player of the Year in 2015.
Outside of hockey Andre has a big interest in personal fitness and enjoys American Football, cross country and rugby. Andre also has ambitions to become an ice hockey coach in the future and has previously helped coach junior players in the Swindon program.
On joining the Junior Bison Andre said "I'm looking forward to playing for the junior Bison and can't wait to play alongside my brother again"
Head coach Ryan Cathcart said "Andre is fitting perfectly into our 15's team. He has good speed and vision, and has a great physical presence on the ice. Off ice a respectful humble lad a great addition to the Bison system"
It's great to see you (finally) as a Junior Bison Andre and we are really look forward to watching your continued development close hand.
If you see Andre around the rink please make him feel welcome and wish him well.
Lets Go Bison.
